Sushang is a great damage dealer in Honkai: Star Rail and her DPS only gets better when she's put into the right team.
Sushang offers excellent single-target DPS, and she's one of the few characters in Honkai: Star Rail who are able to kick enemies hard if they are already down. Such a punishment-heavy playstyle takes a fair bit of investment into this character, in addition to careful consideration of who players choose to bring together to a fight.
Every character in Honkai: Star Rail works best if they are used based on their weaknesses and strengths. This is also true for Sushang, especially since a lot of her consistency depends on pressing the benefit. Here are two carry-oriented teams to assist get the most value using this character.
Sushang Team Comps In Honkai: Star Rail
Sushang is definitely an S-tier character with regard to dealing Physical damage versus single targets. Her Skill damage spikes significantly whenever she's attacking Weakness Broken enemies, so she's best combined with teams that will help set that condition up on her.
Sushang Hypercarry Team
The standard double Support setup is effective on every DPS character, provided players can survive to drag off the best skill rotations and unleash their big burst combos.
DPS: Sushang
Support 1: Pela/Tingyun
Support 2: Bronya
Healer
As mentioned previously, Sushang depends on having the enemy's Toughness bar broken on her Skill to manage more damage. Because of that, players should always bring three other characters who are able to exploit enemy Weaknesses. Playing a double Support team is only going to become better once again Nihility and Harmony's characters get put into the game.
It's worth noting here that Sushang can easily burn through buffs put on her because of her Ultimate advancing her turn forward. After buffing Sushang, it is best to use her Skill before unleashing her giant chicken around the enemy. This way, she won't lose the advantages from buffs that only continue for a single turn.
This team setup might help players proceed to Forgotten Hall stages, also it can decimate enemies within the Simulated Universe if players have the ability to stack Hunt or Break Effect-boosting blessings.
Superspeed Sushang Team
In a means, Sushang plays similarly to Dan Heng when it comes to how she will make good utilization of SPD and Slow effects. Since she will advance her next turn simply by using her ultimate, Sushang can effectively pepper enemies with multiple attacks before they are able to recover their Toughness. This gets to be more effective by using certain characters.
DPS: Sushang
Support 1: Asta
Support 2: Welt
Tank: March 7th
Asta and Welt are really strong with regards to inflicting Weakness Break and manipulating turn orders — the first kind speeds them up, as the latter slows the enemies down. Then, when Toughness bars happen to be broken, March will keep enemies down by freezing all of them with her Ultimate, giving Sushang more opportunities to manage increased damage.
Like the prior team comp, this team's potential is sort of limited by the reduced number of Support characters within the release version of the sport. Over time, weight loss units get released, and players can take the general concept of this team comp and complete each of its character slots using the Support characters they manage to drag from the gacha. Anyone is going to do as long as they are able to buff Sushang's SPD, inflict Slow on enemies, or both.
This setup can be quite helpful within the Forgotten Hall and Memory of Chaos because it gives players more chances to manage damage per turn cycle. This style of team is recommended to anyone who's having problems getting perfect three-star runs.
Honkai: Star Rail can be obtained now for PC and cellular devices. PS4 and PS5 versions have been in development.
