D2R Ladder: Classes distributed in different Ladder modes
May 06, 2022

Source: MMOWTS

Since Diablo 2: Resurrected released its first Ladder season, players have had a heated discussion about the selection and creation of new Ladder characters. To get a better ranking in Ladder, it is very important to choose a solid class and build, and Ladder seems to present a similar situation when compared to popular character trends in regular games.

Overall, in the four different modes, Sorceress is the most chosen class. Based on her rich build forms and the advantages of playing skills, she is still very popular with players even after the massive adjustment in Patch 2.4.

In Expansion Ladder, the proportion of players who choose Sorceress is more than half of the total, reaching 53%, and the second is Paladin, which accounts for 24.3%. These two Classes are all-around occupations that are very suitable for novices. The reason why these two occupations account for such a large proportion is that the early players of Ladder need to use Magic Find to prepare for subsequent upgrades. Necromancer accounts for 5.2 %, Druid and Amazon also account for 5%, while Assassin and Barbarian only account for 3.9% and 4.1%.

Compared with the above-mentioned Normal mode, the Expansion Hardcore Ladder has a more even distribution of occupations, but Sorceress is still the majority, accounting for nearly 30%. Paladin is also in second place with 21.5%; Barbarian and Necromancer are the same in this model, both at around 11%. The players who choose Amazon and Assassin each account for about seven percent.

In Classic Ladder, probably because of the lack of Druid and Assassin, and the fact that players like to use teleportation skills, there are astonishing 76.6% of players choose to use Sorceress, while the remaining occupations are only a quarter of the remaining players are trying to build and upgrade.

Finally, in the Classic Hardcore Ladder, Sorceress ranked first with 35.3%, and Barbarian ranked second with 27.4%. Players seem more willing to try new things in Classic Hardcore mode.

It can be seen that the popularity of Sorceress is very high, and she can play the best effect in Ladder. But there are also plenty of players who are willing to try out new builds who opt for the more niche class builds.
