Diablo 2 Resurrected patch 2.4 has been long-awaited by players since the news that Ladder Mode will go live, and developer Blizzard has repeatedly delayed the update's release. Things have changed recently, with Blizzard confirming a specific release date for patch 2.4 on the official website, and with it comes the exciting Ladder mode for players. Of course, players still need to wait patiently for a while, about a month or so.

Players have been hearing about a new patch for Diablo 2 Resurrected as early as January 2022. Blizzard first tested the patch on the PTR on January 25. In the following month, developers continued to fix and improve the problems exposed in the patch. Patch 2.4 re-entered the PTR in early March and underwent a new round of testing after a drastic change. Of course, the content of this test includes the long-awaited ladder system, and some multiplayer game modes are added to make the ranking competition more interesting.

The April release of Patch 2.4 is already the result of yet another delay, as the game's developer is the notorious Blizzard, meaning delays will always happen. Originally, players could start their adventure in Ladder mode at the end of this month as planned, but now they have to wait another month. The development team appears to have encountered a database issue during development, which Blizzard calls the "showstoppers" issue. While these issues didn't bother beta players in the PTR, they resulted in the Ladder system will not being enabled until two weeks after Patch 2.4 was released.

According to the latest schedule released by Blizzard in the Diablo 2 Resurrected community, the game will launch Patch 2.4 on April 14th. And two weeks later, on April 28, players will be able to compete fiercely in Ladder Mode.

Blizzard said in the post that they chose to forgo the release of both to ensure the best gaming experience for players. The two-week period allows developers to react to new issues that may arise and deal with them promptly, allowing the Ladder system to launch smoothly.
