Recently, Diablo 4 developers stated in a campfire chat that the official release date of Diablo 4 Season 4 will be delayed to May 14, 2024. This is because they plan to launch PTR ahead of launch.

This Diablo 4 PTR allows players to test the game’s build while it is still in development so that developers can use feedback to make adjustments before the game is launched. After experiencing the ups and downs of the first few seasons, the introduction of Public Test Realm may really turn Diablo 4 around before Season 4.

Many players are happy with the change and excited about the gameplay overhaul in Season 4, but it wasn’t until recent data mining that players became aware of the seasonal theme.

Since an in-development build of Diablo 4 Season 4 exists on PTR, some players have been able to dig up information about the upcoming season ahead of its official release. Therefore, in this guide, we will discuss possible themes about the new season based on these leaks, as well as some of the newly added items and cosmetics.

Iron Wolves May Be The Theme Of The New Season

Season 4 appears to be revolving around Iron Wolves faction in some way, based on clues uncovered in Diablo 4 PTR data mine.

Iron Wolves are a major faction of mercenaries in Diablo game series. They were once based in Kehjistan and were famous for defending Kurast from demonic invasions.

In Diablo 2, they join the player’s quests as hireable mercenaries, while in Diablo 3 and 4, they have always appeared as NPCs.

Much of the data taken from Diablo 4 PTR references Iron Wolves, and assets such as seasonal UI icons that bear a striking resemblance to Iron Wolves logo have also been discovered.

These findings send a message to players that Diablo 4’s latest season will feature Iron Wolves in some way, but how they will be involved remains to be seen.

Some players have stated that the developers are likely to reinstate Iron Wolf mercenaries as companions for players in the new season based on this theme. However, this is just speculation at present and has not been confirmed.

New Items & Reworked Helltides

In addition, seasonal reputation reward items discovered in Diablo 4 PTR data mining also indicate that an Iron Wolves-themed season is coming. In particular, the new Diablo 4 items we found with the names “Iron Wolves’ Glove Case” and “Iron Wolves’ Herb Supply” seem to confirm this idea.

It is worth noting that this leak also mentions reworked Helltides in Diablo 4, such as Profane Mindcage, an elixir that can increase the level of enemies in Helltides. This suggests Helltides may play a larger role in the upcoming season.

Besides these items and reputation rewards, data-mining also points to a new seasonal story NPC being a man named Soudeh.

New Cosmetics

Finally, some new cosmetics in Diablo 4 Season 4’s Battle Pass have also been data mined, including new armor transmog sets that appear to give player characters what appear to be white tunics with floral crowns.

Also, the new Hellseeker Armor Set has also been data mined, giving players Skeletal Armor drenched in Blood and Viscera.

Finally, information about the new Uber unique armor piece, Tyrael’s Might, has also been revealed, giving players their first glimpse of what this classic armor will look like in Diablo 4.
